Additionally, the coordinator promotes department visibility, engages with the community, and represents the department at local and statewide aging-related events and conferences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of postsecondary education in communications, public relations, marketing, community development, public administration, or related field; relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology, Business, Counseling, or related field, or five years of work experience with information, social services or related field preferred.
• Employee is responsible for obtaining and maintaining all certification requirements relative to the position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate information and outreach for adults 60+ and their families.
• Represent the department at local and statewide aging-related events and meetings.
• Advocate for the interests and needs of adults 60+ within the community.

Education
