Job summary

The Greater Nashville Regional Council (GNRC) is seeking a full‑time Community Resource Specialist to serve as a counselor in its Information and Assistance Program. Responsibilities include informing seniors about programs, conducting screenings, and providing referrals while documenting client information.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in social work or related field with two years of experience, strong communication, and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field; two years of relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills and experience conducting phone interviews or counseling.
• Proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Bilingual language skills are a plus; foreign degrees will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Inform older adults or caretakers about programs and services for long‑term care, transportation, nutrition, or other needs.
• Conduct telephone screenings and follow‑ups to assess needs and eligibility for in‑home or community programs.
• Provide information counseling and referrals by telephone to help navigate to services.
• Stay informed on aging and disability issues and resources; connect clients to providers.
• Advocate for clients by guiding them to appropriate resources.
• Document consumer information from interactions and counseling sessions in the proper systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the I&A Program Manager or Director.
