Job summary

Onyx Point, Inc. is seeking an Automated Test Developer to modernize a legacy system with a microservices architecture using Java Spring Boot and AWS cloud services.

The role requires active TS/SCI clearance and full-scope polygraph, with on-call responsibilities and team-focused collaboration. Responsibilities include building REST services, optimizing AWS resources with Python, and implementing CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with full-scope poly required.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years of relevant experience or Master’s plus 7 years experience; other combinations may be considered.
• Experience with microservices architectures and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Write Java Spring Boot microservices using AWS native services.
• Use Python to optimize AWS services (Lambdas, Step Functions, EC2, S3).
• Build REST services with Spring to filter and select complex data objects.
• Implement CI/CD using Maven, GitLab, and GitOps.

The Work

Modernizing a legacy operational system using a microservices-based architecture and cutting-edge technologies.

• Writing java spring boot based micro service applications utilizing AWS native technologies
• Utilize Python to optimize AWS services such as Lambdas, Step Functions, EC2 and S3
• Building REST services with Spring able to filter and select complex data objects
• Implement CI/CD principles utilizing Maven, Gitlab and GitOps
• Agile development and delivery of software
• Communication and collaboration: Software Development is a team-oriented discipline. Engineers need to be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members, as well as with stakeholders.

Desired Skills

• AWS Services (i.e. Lambda’s, Step functions, S3, etc.)
• Document-based stored (MongoDB, OpenSearch, etc.)
• Relational Data Store Familiarity ( RDS, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.)

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree plus 7 years of relevant experience. An Associate’s degree plus 11 years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED plus 13 years of experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience that is clearly related to the position. Certifications count as a year experience. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Degree can be waiver for technical experience in domain skillsets outlined the requisition posting. Certifications count as a year experience.

Compensation

We are committed to providing fair and competitive compensation. The salary range for this position is $78,000 to $250,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation offered across the locations where we hire. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's work location, specific role, skill set, and level of expertise.
