MAPFRE is seeking an Agentic AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI agents for insurance workflows, with end-to-end ownership from prototype to scale. The role blends AI, software engineering, and insurance expertise, with strong emphasis on backend services and observability.

The position requires hands-on Python, LLM-based agentic systems, and collaboration with architects and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software, ML, or data engineering experience or 5+ years with a Master’s degree
• 2+ years building LLM-based applications including at least one agentic system deployed to production
• Strong Python skills and API/testing fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with an agent framework/SDK (LangGraph strongly preferred) and major model APIs
• Experience evaluating LLM applications with datasets, metrics
• Understanding agent reliability, security risks, and ability to communicate with stakeholders
• Strong communication and collaboration with architects and business experts

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents and multi-step workflows for complex insurance processes
• Translate designs into working agents, evaluating feasibility and trade-offs
• Build backend services with stable APIs, authentication, testing, and integration
• Own agent quality with test datasets, evaluations, and improvements
• Implement guardrails, human-in-the-loop, observability, and audit logging
• Prototype and deploy solutions using cloud, containers, and CI/CD
• Measure technical performance and business value, report results to stakeholders
