Job summary

MAPFRE is hiring an Agentic AI Engineer in Webster, MA to design, build, and deploy production-grade AI agents that improve underwriting and claims workflows, with end-to-end ownership from architecture to guardrails and scaling.

You’ll work across FastAPI, Streamlit, LangGraph, and AWS Bedrock to deliver reusable agent patterns, assess trade-offs, and ensure reliability through tests, observability, and CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field (or Master’s).
• 7+ years of software, ML, or data engineering experience or 5+ years with Master’s.
• 2+ years building LLM-based applications and at least one agentic system deployed to production.
• Strong Python skills and API integration fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with an agent framework or SDK (LangGraph strongly preferred).
• Experience with production AI deployments in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents and multi-step workflows for underwriting and claims.
• Advise on feasibility, cost, and reliability trade-offs when translating designs to agents.
• Implement agents as backend services with stable APIs, authentication, and testing.
• Integrate agents with enterprise data sources, APIs, and MCP servers.
• Own agent quality through tests, datasets, evaluations, and improvements.
• Implement guardrails including human-in-the-loop checks, observability, and cost controls.
• Prototype and validate solutions with MVP interfaces (e.g., Streamlit) and scale via cloud and CI/CD.
