Job summary

gpac is seeking a Service Manager - Agriculture Equipment to oversee the daily operations of a busy service department in Southwestern Minnesota. You will set timelines, provide technical guidance, and ensure high-quality service for agricultural machinery.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong diagnostic knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulics, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of dealership experience in agricultural equipment repair.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, supervise, and coach technicians.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, diesel engines, powertrains, hydraulics.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with sense of urgency.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Willing to work extended hours as needed.
• Valid driver's license with verifiable clean driving history.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead service department by setting timelines and guiding technicians.
• Check in with technicians four times daily for updates.
• Train staff using best practices for diagnostics, customer satisfaction and brand promotion.
• Perform final inspections to ensure quality of work.
• Provide phone support for technical inquiries.
• Address and resolve customer complaints promptly.
• Control non-productive time, breaks, vacations, and leaves.
• Monitor performance and provide ongoing training.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available and maintained.
• Track monthly metrics to meet departmental goals.
• Manage department expenses while maintaining quality services.
• Coordinate with area schools to provide internship opportunities.
