Job summary

Woodcraft Rangers is seeking an Early Learning / TK Program Leader (Jr. Rangers Club Leader) to guide a club of about 20 children at sites across Los Angeles, including Eagle Rock and Exposition Park. Hours are 1:00 PM to 5:00/6:00 PM, with shifts varying by location.

This role emphasizes safe, inclusive, engaging activities and youth development. The ideal candidate demonstrates reliability, strong communication, and ability to work well with youth and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in Child Development or related field preferred.
• 6 months experience supervising a group of early education aged children in a school or recreational setting or 6 units in early education/child development.
• Availability Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Experience in expanded learning programs or after-school settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Foster a safe and supportive environment for students, both physically and emotionally.
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful culture among participants, staff, and families.
• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities supporting social-emotional learning and development.
• Monitor attendance and participation to ensure consistent engagement in activities.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with staff to plan events celebrating participant achievements.
• Request program materials timely to meet budget guidelines.
• Comply with safety procedures, trainings, and certification requirements.
• Participate in off-site field trips as needed.
• Maintain accurate student attendance records and submit daily.
• Attend mandatory professional development and training sessions.
• Work with the Site Coordinator and Program Manager to fulfill responsibilities.
