Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to manage a licensed school-age enrichment program in the Conroe area. You will ensure safety, engagement and compliance with YMCA and state licensing standards.

The role requires strong leadership, planning and parent communication, with responsibilities spanning daily operations, staff oversight, and program quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development, recreational leadership or management.
• At least one year of experience with youth in licensed settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead licensed school-age enrichment program daily, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Oversee afterschool operations, licensing compliance, and program equipment.
• Maintain attendance and enrollment records; sign-in/sign-out procedures.
• Plan activities per YMCA curriculum and ensure staff follow policies.
• Engage parents and community; communicate progress and concerns.
• Support program growth and retention through enrollment strategies.
