Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking an Afterschool Director to lead, plan, administer and evaluate afterschool programs. You will supervise staff and volunteers, ensure licensing compliance, and drive program growth across branches in alignment with strategic plans.

Under the Executive Director, you will manage budgets, recruit partnerships, monitor program outcomes, and coordinate marketing to maximize enrollments while promoting safety and high-quality learning for youth.

Qualifications

• High School or GED with 4+ years in education OR a bachelor's degree with 2+ years in education.
• 1+ years of supervisory responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate and manage information to participants, community leaders, volunteers and staff.
• Ability to establish, collaborate and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
• Must obtain trainings within 30 days of hire and pass required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage afterschool programs to promote growth, impact, and safety.
• Provide day-to-day supervision of staff/volunteers related to the department.
• Oversee branch grant program to meet standards, policies, and budget.
• Design practices, processes, and procedures for strong afterschool programs.
• Develop plans to recruit participants and community partnerships.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff/volunteers.
• Ensure all childcare standards and policies are met at each location.
• Maintain accurate records for licensing, staff and child health and safety.
• Monitor budgets and ensure high-quality results through formal progress measurement.
• Coordinate marketing and manage program registrations and scholarships.
• Establish new activities and expand programs with strategic plans.
• Foster innovation and high-level member/customer service.
• Analyze reports to track branch goals and financial trends.
