Job summary

Keene Family YMCA in Keene, NH is seeking an Out of School Time Coordinator to supervise a school-age program, foster safe, engaging activities, and support youth development in line with YMCA core values.

This part-time, seasonal role reports to the Out of School Time Director and requires 3+ years working with youth, strong communication skills, and relevant certifications. Join a mission-driven team committed to community wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • 1. At least 21 years of age
  • 2. Must pass a background check
  • 3. Minimum of 1 year supervising 3+ staff
  • 4. 3+ years' experience working with youth preferably in a school age setting.
  • 5. Behavioral management experience within a School, Childcare, Camp setting or parenthood is preferred.
  • 6. 2-4 years' experience working with children with cognitive and developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • 7. Effective verbal communication skills
  • 8. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse Prevention training with the first 30 days of hire.
  • 9. Completed health form within the first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests. While exemplifying the Y’s commitment to the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility and responds to all member and community inquiries promptly.
  • 2. Supervises and supports KFY OST programs at all locations
  • 3. Supports and trains staff in planning engaging, enrichment-based, age-appropriate activities.
  • 4. Provides leadership to co-staff.
  • 5. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
  • 6. Attends staff meetings, training, and dedicated events. (Family nights and others)
  • 7. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • 8. Fulfills any other functions designated by the YMCA Administration.
