Job summary

National CORE seeks an Afterschool Program Site Coordinator to work with parents, staff, and students to run a safe, supervised afterschool program. You will implement curriculum, supervise staff, and partner with the Youth Program Coordinator to provide a stable, nurturing atmosphere.

Responsibilities include leading engaging health, wellness, character development, academic and STEAM activities, coordinating events, and ensuring program quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Experience working or volunteering with children and teens in a professional setting.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to coordinate volunteers and staff members.
• Good written and verbal communications skills.
• Works well independently as well as part of a team.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in social services.
• Experience with community-based organizations.
• Collaborative, team-oriented work style.
• Enthusiastic attitude with ability to organize and coordinate teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise students in afterschool program; ensure understanding of rules and procedures.
• Create engaging activities in health, wellness, character development, academics and STEAM.
• Develop a calendar of activities to complement student learning.
• Lead and supervise youth, recognize issues, apply procedures.
• Foster a safe, respectful and motivating program environment.
• Serve as a positive role model through dress, speech, attitude and courtesy.
• Maintain cleanliness; assist with setup and breakdown of program days.
• Support daily snack/meals program and maintain meal records.
• Provide leadership to other staff or volunteers per program policies.
• Adhere to site policies; attend additional community events as needed.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by Youth Program Coordinator.
