Job summary

Flatbush Development Corporation is seeking a Program Director to oversee the After School COMPASS Program, ensuring high-quality supervision, budgeting, and adherence to DYCD and DOH licensing. The role emphasizes staff leadership, family engagement, and program development to support youth outcomes.

The supervisor reports to the Deputy Director of Youth Programs and manages a full-time, on-site team 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
• An associate’s degree in child development, elementary education, physical education or recreation.
• A School-Age Child Care Credential or other Office-recognized credential with two years of direct experience with children under 13, including supervisory experience.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, or related field.
• Four years of supervision experience in afterschool programs or youth services.
• Strong knowledge of DYCD, DOH licensing rules and compliance.
• CPR and First Aid certification; required licensing certifications for SACC/DOH/DYCD.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and supervision of the entire program, including budgeting and staff supervision.
• Ensure program elements meet funding guidelines and engage in outreach, enrollment, and retention activities.
• Foster positive youth development and build strong relationships with participants and families.
• Develop and implement program schedules, feedback-driven improvements, and special events planning.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise frontline staff; conduct regular meetings with stakeholders.
