Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston in Dorchester seeks an Afterschool Director to supervise and coordinate the afterschool program, ensuring quality services and alignment with school day curricula. You will lead staff, manage licensing compliance, and foster healthy living and youth development within the community.

The role requires 30 hours per week onsite at Trotter Elementary School, with some off-site meetings scheduled with the supervisor. Strong collaboration with school staff is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Passion for positive youth development and working with families.
• Experience training, leading, and coaching part-time staff (1–2 years).
• Experience in diverse communities and equity mindset.
• Bilingual in English and Haitian Creole preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support classrooms and align afterschool activities with school day curricula.
• Ensure adherence to licensing standards and create organized programming.
• Develop communication systems to inform parents about scheduling and activities.
• Participate in annual fundraising campaigns.
• Maintain safe, healthy, and engaging program environments.
• Collaborate with school staff to extend the school day.
• Lead summer programming at licensed YMCA locations when needed.
• Oversee attendance, child files, evaluations, and reporting.
