Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston seeks an Assistant Site Director at Oak Square YMCA in Brighton to support after-school operations under the Site Director. This full-time role emphasizes program planning, staff supervision, and safe, engaging activities for children in the Before/After School program.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with a high school diploma (college degree preferred), CPR/First Aid, and youth-program experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and passionate about working with children.
• Experience with youth programs or camp settings preferred.
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and effective communication.
• Knowledge of group process and teamwork.
• Current First Aid, CPR certifications or ability to complete YMCA training upon hire.
• 7D license recommended for transport but not required.
• Available up to 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 10am–6pm.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily after-school activities and program preparations.
• Ensure safety, proper attendance, and documentation for groups.
• Support staff with daily tasks to maintain quality programming.
• Plan activities, events, and family nights with leadership schedule.
• Communicate program information and concerns to supervisors.
