Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is looking for an Afterschool Group Leader to join the Child Development: Before / After School team in Reading, MA. The part-time role involves planning curricula, providing homework help, and communicating with families to support student success in a safe environment.

Under supervision, you will collaborate with the Site Director to ensure a developmentally appropriate program, meet licensing standards, and promote healthy living and youth development for school-age

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree and three months of experience with school age children.
• High school diploma or equivalent with six months of experience in school age care.
• Nine months of experience with school age children including three months supervised.

Responsibilities

• Plan group curricula that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
• Ensure adherence to licensing standards and inclusive culture.
• Communicate information to parents and families.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging program environment.
• Support development across cognitive, language and physical domains.
• Collaborate with Site Director to design space and manage supplies.
