Job summary

Greater Burlington YMCA seeks an Afterschool Staff member to support youth development, healthy living, and family engagement in Vermont. You will assist the Program Director and help deliver engaging activities for children aged five to twelve, Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety, supervising activities, and participating in program planning. The role offers meaningful work, professional development, and Y membership benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a federal background check and state fingerprinting.
• At least 6 months of experience working with children.
• Have reliable transportation for consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Safety: Maintain continuous supervision and keep spaces clean and organized.
• Engage: Participate in program activities including interactive sessions and field trips.
• Grow: Complete required professional development, CPR/First Aid, and BFIS documentation.
• Support: Communicate concerns to the Y Program Director and be flexible to cover other sites.
• Collaborate: Attend staff development meetings and contribute ideas to improve programs.
• Be a Professional: Interact with participants, families, and staff respectfully; manage time cards.
