Job summary

YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Content Specialist for Castle Hill YMCA. The role supports Afterschool programs by selecting and managing curricula, coaching staff, and ensuring high-quality content aligned with program goals.

You will oversee lesson-plan execution, collaborate with staff and partners, and help participants achieve stronger academic outcomes through engaging activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Two years’ experience with children under 13.
• At least one year supervisory/oversight experience with staff coaching.
• Experience in developing curriculum/lesson plans.
• General knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Select and manage content across program areas; create curricula when needed.
• Oversee lesson plan implementation and support staff to ensure effectiveness.
• Coach staff to enhance lesson facilitation and classroom management.
• Review content to align with high-quality standards of Y Afterschool Programs.
• Provide professional development for program staff to improve quality.
• Support monitoring and evaluating program activities for safety and learning.
