Job summary

YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Part-Time Content Specialist for the West Side Y Afterschool program. The role focuses on selecting and managing curriculum, coaching staff, and ensuring high-quality program delivery.

The ideal candidate will oversee content across multiple COMPASS programs, provide training, and collaborate with school staff to support youth development and academic growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field required.
• Two years’ experience working with children under 13.
• At least one year in a supervisory/oversight role including staff development.
• Experience in developing education-based curriculum/lesson plans.
• General knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Select and manage content across program areas; create curricula and lesson plans as needed.
• Oversee lesson plan implementation and support staff to ensure effective delivery.
• Coach staff with strategies for classroom management and engagement.
• Review content to align with high quality standards of Y Afterschool Programs.
• Provide professional development for program staff to improve program quality.
• Monitor activities to ensure a safe, high-quality environment for youth development.
• Assist participants in improving comprehension and academic skills.
