Job summary

YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Part-Time Content Specialist for the Flushing YMCA at PS 22 in Queens. You will select and manage curricula across COMPASS programs, coach Activity Specialists and Group Leaders, and ensure program quality while aligning with OCFS/DOH standards.

The role involves creating lesson plans, supporting staff development, and maintaining accurate documentation to support youth learning and engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
• Two+ years experience working with children under 13.
• One year supervisory/oversight experience including staff coaching and curriculum development.
• Experience developing education-based curriculum/lesson plans.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Select and manage content across program areas; create new curricula when needed.
• Coach staff to improve lesson facilitation, classroom management, and behavior support.
• Review content to meet high-quality standards of YMCA Afterschool Programs.
• Provide professional development to program staff to improve overall quality.
• Help participants develop study skills and improved academic performance.
