Job summary

The Northeast Bronx YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, is seeking a Content Specialist to curate and manage program content and curricula for COMPASS programs. Under the supervision of the Program Director, you will oversee implementation, coach staff, and contribute to overall program quality.

This role emphasizes leadership in curriculum development, staff coaching, and youth-focused activities, with a part-time schedule at the Northeast Bronx YMCA in Bronx, NY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience with children under 13.
• Minimum of one year in supervisory/oversight roles with staff.
• Experience in developing education-based curriculum/lesson plans.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Select and manage content across all required program areas. May include creating new curricula and lesson plans.
• Oversee lesson plan implementation and support staff to ensure effective execution.
• Coach staff with targeted strategies to improve lesson facilitation and classroom management.
• Review content to ensure alignment with high-quality standards of the Y Afterschool Programs.
• Provide professional development for program staff to improve overall program quality.
• Support monitoring and evaluating program activities to ensure a safe, high-quality environment for youth development.
• Assist participants in improving comprehension and retention of subject material and study skills.
• Work with staff to develop activities aligned with academic expectations of the day school.
