Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc is seeking a Yard & Dock Coordinator in Bristow, VA for afternoon shifts (Mon-Fri 2:30pm-11:00pm). This hands-on leadership role partners with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to ensure safe, efficient, and timely trailer movements in and out of the facility.

You will model accountability, customer service excellence, and operational discipline while supporting daily dock activities and site SWIs.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation settings.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain.
• Ability to follow defined safety processes and escalation procedures.
• Strong communication for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support hand tools and dock equipment as needed.
• Serve as the primary contact for loading/unloading dock activities, coordinating trailer movements.
• Manage docking, release, and yard flow while ensuring fleet safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and stop-work when unsafe, escalating as required.
• Partner with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams to prioritize tasks.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines, safety standards, and SWIs.
• Support dock/yard organization following 7S workplace standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify risks, inefficiencies or delays.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity, communicate updates, and document issues.
