Job summary

CHRISTUS VNA Hospice, part of LHC Group, is seeking an Afterhours Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive hospice care after regular hours, including nights and weekends. You will triage needs by phone, respond to crisis calls, and perform initial nursing evaluations within 48 hours of referral during home visits.

Must hold current RN licensure in the state, have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
• CPR certification preferred or obtainable within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Triage patient needs over the phone until an in-person visit.
• Respond to crisis calls after hours with urgency.
• Perform initial nursing evaluation within 48 hours of referral.
• Conduct after-hours visits including admission, death, and routine visits.
• Document patient/family needs and responses to hospice care.
