Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks an Aftercare Aide to provide a safe, welcoming environment for elementary students in the school's aftercare program. You will supervise, lead activities, assist with homework, and help maintain routines that reflect the Catholic school's mission.

You will collaborate with the Aftercare Coordinator, teachers, and staff to ensure a safe, organized, and positive aftercare experience, supporting student growth and well-being.

Qualifications

• Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Ability to provide patient, attentive supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage children in age-appropriate activities while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision of elementary students throughout the aftercare program.
• Maintain a safe, caring, and respectful environment consistent with Catholic school values.
• Monitor student behavior and encourage cooperation, kindness, respect, and appropriate social interactions.
• Lead and participate in age-appropriate games, crafts, recreational activities, and other enrichment activities.
• Assist students with homework, reading, and other quiet activities as needed.
• Supervise snack time and help students follow appropriate cleanliness and safety procedures.
• Assist with student transitions, including arrival, activities, snack, outdoor/indoor play, and dismissal.
