Job summary

Willamalane Park and Recreation District is seeking an Activity Leader for Youth Programs. This part-time, non-exempt position runs 2:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m.

on weekdays, following the Springfield Public Schools calendar. The role involves facilitating developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool to kindergarten, ensuring safety, and supporting children's social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age and experience in community education, parks and recreation, or related areas which include working closely with children and the general public.
• Preferred: high school graduation or equivalency and two years of progressively responsible experience in childcare, recreation or related areas; bilingual applicants encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Monitor participant safety with attendance, supervision, and head counts.
• Supervise and assist children in recreation activities and lead activities as requested.
• Assist with serving snacks and cleanup.
• Respond to behavior concerns and administer first aid when needed.
• Prepare site and set up supplies per Program Leader instructions.
• Answer questions from parents and inform progress.
