Job summary

Willamalane Park and Recreation District seeks a Program Leader for Youth Programs to manage daily operations at a recreation site, ensuring child safety and guiding Activity Leaders. The role reports to the Youth Programs Supervisor and focuses on program delivery, safety and community relationships.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, coordinating with Springfield Public Schools partners, logistics, PBIS implementation, and recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age with experience in community education, parks and recreation, or related areas.
• High school graduation or equivalency and one year of experience; two years of related experience preferred.
• First aid and CPR certification; Oregon Food Handler Permit; RRCAN; ICCHS; FFL; enrollment in Oregon CBR within 7 days; safety sensitive background check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee participant safety with attendance, supervision and head counts.
• Lead and mentor Activity Leaders; coach on PBIS and program procedures.
• Schedule and implement activities, coordinate with partners and staff.
• Prepare supplies, meals, and snacks; maintain records and reports.
• Respond to questions from parents and communicate child progress.
• Perform daily site setup, cleanup and sanitization; handle incidents.
