Job summary

ProYouth Expanded Learning is seeking a Program Leader Sub to help manage a classroom, ensure student safety, and support daily program delivery. Responsibilities include project-based learning, positive discipline, and collaboration with site leaders to keep activities engaging for youth.

The role offers afternoon availability (2:00 PM–6:00 PM) with at least two days per week, and compensation at $18.00 per hour. Applicants must meet state requirements and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 48 college units or NCLB paraprofessional certification.
• Minimum of 18 years old; must pass DOJ/FBI background check; TB clearance.
• Must possess a valid California Driver License and adequate auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing a classroom and ensure student safety.
• Facilitate daily program activities (sports, STEM, coding, nutrition, outdoor education, arts).
• Support project-based learning and student mastery of new skills.
• Maintain a safe, respectful learning environment and promote positive discipline.
• Collaborate with Site Director and staff to plan engaging activities for youth.
• Communicate effectively with students, coworkers, parents, and school staff.
