Job summary

Right At School is hiring SUBSTITUTE positions for Chicago Public School programs. Hours vary weekly across Before School, Recess, and After School shifts, with occasional travel to CPS locations on short notice.

Starting pay is $17/hour. Responsibilities include organizing materials, delivering our daily curriculum, guiding behavior, supporting homework, and communicating effectively with children, parents, staff, and school personnel. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 years of age.
• College credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or related field preferred.
• Ability to lift 40lbs.
• CPR/ Mandated Reporter training, TB test, etc. may be required per state guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Organize program materials for lessons and activities, and document attendance and incidents.
• Deliver daily curriculum to engage children and support learning.
• Model positive guidance and classroom management to ensure safety and engagement.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff and school personnel.
• Meet regularly with the Program Manager for progress and accountability.
• Assist with homework support and supervise play and fitness activities.
