Job summary

Right At School in Illinois is hiring educators to work with kids in before/after school programs. You will greet students, lead activities, supervise behavior, support homework, and communicate with families to ensure a safe, engaging environment.

This part-time, on-site role offers flexible AM/PM shifts at La Grange 102 School District, with pay between $16 and $19 per hour, opportunities to gain experience in education, and perks like tuition benefits for staff.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Comfortable leading groups and activities.
• Strong customer service and communication with children and adults.
• Reliable with a consistent part-time schedule.
• Physically able to lift 25 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to support additional program locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons for the age group.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions; ensure safety.
• Address minor conflicts using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off about their child's day.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to the Program Manager; log reports.
• Set up and clean up program space and materials daily.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff.
