Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a School-Age Childcare Site Director for our After School Program at William J. Christian School in Birmingham, AL. This part-time, non-exempt role pays $20.00 per hour and follows the school calendar.

The position involves hands-on activities, supervision, and coordination with families and school staff to ensure a safe, engaging environment for children aged 5–12.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or youth program setting.
• Some experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
• Calm, flexible, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to pass required background and fingerprint clearances.
• Knowledge of state childcare licensing helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
