Job summary

The YMCA is hiring an Afterschool Childcare Site Director for a location serving Hoover, Homewood, or Trussville, with hours from 12pm to 6pm, Monday through Friday. This role oversees the on-site staff, ensures safety ratios, and maintains program quality in partnership with school sites.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in education or related field, 1–3 years in child care or education, and strong communication skills. Background checks and required certifications are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred; HS diploma required.
• 1–3 years in education, recreation, or childcare preferred.
• Must be 21+ years old; background checks required.
• Customer service focus with strong oral and written communication; solid computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, administer, and evaluate the afterschool program at the assigned site.
• Assist in staff training, lead monthly meetings, and complete evaluations.
• Support youth development administration in curriculum planning and supervision.
• Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff; respond to parent concerns.
