Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring a School-Age Childcare Site Director for our After School Program at AJ Smith Elementary School in Union Springs, NY for the 2026–2027 school year. The position is part-time, non-exempt with a pay rate of $17 per hour and follows the school calendar.

You will lead hands-on activities, supervise staff, ensure safety, and collaborate with families. Ideal candidates have related education credentials and experience with children.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in a child-focused field with supervisory experience.
• Credentials for school-age childcare or administrator role preferred.
• Ability to manage groups of children and coordinate staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, arts, homework).
• Provide a safe, healthy, and engaging environment; model positive behavior.
• Follow state guidelines, program policies, and school rules.
• Support program operations including attendance, registrations and staffing.

Education

Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field

Two years of college with 18 credits in a related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role

NY State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience

School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience
