Job summary

YMC seeks a Site/Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of the School’s Out Program at Springfield-area sites. Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director of Education, you will supervise children and lead activities, coordinating with the Site Director to ensure a safe, engaging environment.

You will participate in trainings, support a holistic curriculum aligned with Y values, and model positive behavior for participants and staff, including substitute coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Additional years of professional experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in working with school-age children.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service/relation.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct complex, critical problem solving independently.
• Knowledge of and ability to learn appropriate childdevelopment techniques.
• Demonstrated track record of timeliness and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children, promote learning opportunities, and lead activities in conjunction with the Site Director at an assigned site(s).
• Assist the Site Director in planning and implementing a holistic curriculum for a given site(s) that reflects Y values.
• Role model acceptable behaviors and decision-making for participants and peers.
• Actively participate in all related in-services, trainings, and activities.
• Utilize appropriate guidance and developmental techniques with participants to create an orderly environment that is conducive to learning and child safety.
• Provide substitute coverage to other sites on an as needed basis.
• Enforce and support the policies contained in the Y Parent Guide, Behavior Management Guide and Staff Handbook.
