Job summary

The YMCA of Springfield is seeking a Site Coordinator to lead our before and after school program at an on-site location. You will oversee the site, program, staff, and participants, ensuring high-quality programming and safety.

You’ll communicate with parents daily, supervise curriculum delivery, and manage field trips and supplies while modeling YMCA core values. Hours are 7:00am - 8:00am Monday through Friday when school is in session for the 2026-2027 year, with on-site leadership and daily

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old (preference for 21+).
At least 2 years of related experience working with youth.
Must complete onboarding process within designated time.
Have leadership competencies in identified key areas.
Ability to learn quickly.
Ability to work with integrity, discretion, and a professional approach.
Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
Ability to complete all required trainings within 60 days, including CPR, first aid, Living Our Cause, DCFS Mandated Reporter, IL Gateway Registry Modules and maintain these certifications as current as required.

Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of all program participants; follows emergencies, incident reporting, child abuse prevention policies.
Provides a high level of customer service to YMCA members, guests, and staff; main point of contact with parents.
Directs and supervises high quality program activities; implements curriculum, manages field trips, oversees supplies.
Directs personnel and volunteers; develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals; reports concerns to supervisor.
