Job summary

YMCA of Memphis & Mid-South is seeking a full-time School Age Services Site Director to plan and implement daily lesson plans for an afterschool site, supervise staff, and ensure child safety and development in a licensed program.

The role requires managing licensing standards, communicating with school staff and families, and coordinating with program leadership to provide a nurturing, values-based environment for children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in child development or related fields; TECA orientation within first year.
• Two years of college (30+ hours in related fields) and two years of group setting experience.
• Four-year degree with one year of full-time (paid or unpaid) group setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
• Oversee the operation of a before/after school site (avg 20–99 students) and seasonal camps.
• Maintain policies and licensing standards; conduct licensing inspections.
• Implement daily curriculum per YMCA guidelines; direct staff and children.
• Lead a group of 15–20 children during activities; manage transitions.
• Set up and restore program spaces to safe, organized environments.
• Supervise staff, schedules, training and development of leaders.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; communicate with school staff and parents.
• Maintain DHS files for staff and children; ensure accuracy and privacy.
• Support inventory, supplies and meal times; participate in events.
