Job summary

Family YMCA of Marion and Polk Counties seeks a Program Lead to prepare and implement curriculum under the Site Supervisor and Multi-Site Director. You will supervise groups of school-age children, ensuring safety, dignity, and adherence to YMCA values.

Programs run Monday through Friday across multiple Salem-Keizer sites and surrounding communities, with before/after-school hours and additional hours during days off and summer.

Qualifications

  • Requires 18+ years of age.
  • Eligible to obtain Pediatric First Aid & CPR.
  • Able to obtain Food Handler's Card.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • One of the following educational/experience options: associate degree in child education or development; OR Oregon Registry step 6; OR 3 months teaching experience in a Certified Childcare Center; OR 60 hours of program plus 20 hours of training in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Interact and relate with youth and serve as a positive role model.
  • Work as a team with other Program Leads, Assistant Program Leaders, Site Supervisors, and Department Directors.
  • May require basic understanding of child development.
  • Teach children self-help skills and provide opportunities for independence.
  • Follow written weekly lesson plans posted as a daily guide.
  • Initiate activities focusing on all areas of development with individualized needs.
