Job summary

New York Edge is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Director to oversee the after-school program, supervise staff, and coordinate enrichment activities. The role emphasizes in-person site leadership in Brooklyn, with a Monday–Friday schedule and 50k–55k salary.

You will manage academic components, organize events, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while reporting to the ASPD and collaborating with the Program Manager.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work late afternoons/evenings.
• Experience with Academics, Sports, or Arts programs and youth instruction.
• Knowledge of the New York City Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise academic counselors and oversee the academic component of the after-school program.
• Lead off-site trips and supervise students and staff for the duration of outings.
• Coordinate and implement enrichment activities in alignment with daily homework sessions.
• Ensure compliance with DYCD, DOE, and DOHMH regulations and pandemic-related requirements.
• Communicate program progress and challenges to the After-School Program Director.
