Job summary

New York Edge is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Director for the Queens site to support the After-School Program under the supervision of the ASPD. You will help implement enrichment activities, coordinate theme-based projects, schedule activities, supervise staff, maintain records, and report to parents.

The role covers the site in the ASPD's absence, under the Program Manager’s guidance. The schedule is Monday through Friday, typically 12pm–6pm, in person at the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or actively completing a BA.
• At least 1 year of work-related skill or experience.
• Report to the school building and interact with the Program Director, staff, and students.

Responsibilities

• Direct overall supervision of academic counselors and the academic component of the after-school program.
• Prepare alternative activities to implement during homework sessions.
• Align homework sessions with day school standards of learning.
• Lead off-site trips and supervise students and staff.
• Foster academic, cultural, and artistic growth through projects.
• Provide coverage for activity specialists.
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and youth behavior management.
• Communicate progress with the After-School Program Director.
• Ensure compliance with DYCD/DOE/DOHMH regulations and local pandemic conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
