Job summary

Commonpoint is seeking an After School Group Leader for the Youth Education Services Department in New York City. You will supervise students from Kindergarten through Eighth grade, provide academic support, and foster engaging, safe activities that promote growth.

You will plan and facilitate enrichment programs, model positive youth development, and supervise transitions between activities. This role emphasizes inclusivity, safety, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children under the age of 13.
• Associate's degree preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students (Kindergarten–Eighth grade) in a safe, engaging program environment.
• Provide homework assistance and support positive study habits.
• Plan and facilitate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities.
• Model respectful behavior and use positive behavior strategies with youth.
• Safely supervise transitions between activities and maintain structure.

Education
