Job summary

Commonpoint in Bayside, NY is seeking an After School Group Leader for the Youth Education Services Department. You will supervise K–8 students, provide academic support, and foster positive relationships to support youth development and well-being.

Role reports to the Assistant Program Director and Program Director, with responsibilities across safety, program quality, and collaboration to deliver high-quality afterschool programming.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children under 13.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students from Kindergarten through Eighth grade in a safe, inclusive program.
• Provide homework assistance and encourage positive study habits.
• Plan and facilitate engaging educational, recreational, and enrichment activities.
• Model respectful behavior and support youth development.
• Safely supervise transitions between activities and maintain engagement.

Skills
