Job summary

Commonpoint is hiring an After School Group Leader in the Youth Education Services Department to supervise students, facilitate engaging activities, provide academic support, and foster youth development in a safe, inclusive setting.

The role reports to the Assistant Program Director and Program Director and requires dedication to high-quality programming and student well-being in a community-based afterschool program.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children under the age of 13.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students from Kindergarten through Eighth grade in a safe, inclusive and engaging environment.
• Provide homework assistance and encourage positive study habits.
• Plan and facilitate engaging educational, recreational, and enrichment activities.
• Model respectful behavior and reinforce program expectations; use positive behavior management strategies.
• Safely supervise transitions between activities and maintain structure and engagement.
• Complete attendance and assist with required program documentation on time.

Skills
