Job summary

Commonpoint in New York, NY is seeking an After School Group Leader within the Youth Education Services Department. You will supervise Kindergarten through 8th grade students, facilitate engaging activities, provide academic support, and foster positive youth development in a safe, inclusive environment.

Work hours align with afterschool programs, typically 2:00 PM–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, in person at program sites.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children under the age of 13.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students from Kindergarten through Eighth grade in a safe, inclusive environment.
• Provide homework assistance and encourage positive study habits.
• Plan and facilitate engaging educational, recreational, and enrichment activities.
• Model respectful behavior and reinforce program expectations.
• Safely supervise transitions between activities and maintain engagement.
