Job summary

Arc Experience in Southern California provides before and after-school programs that empower youth to reach their potential. The Assistant Site Coordinator works directly with students and school staff, developing lesson plans, tracking attendance, and ensuring grant compliance.

This is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Site Coordinator. The position offers opportunities to grow leadership skills, gain experience in program management, and contribute to a dynamic community

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in after-school programs or youth recreation.
• Strong communication with kids and parents.
• College transcripts showing 48+ college credits or passing an academic proficiency exam.
• TB test with negative result and Live Scan background check.
• English-Spanish bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Coordinator as the second point of contact for parents and administrators.
• Oversee student safety during after-school activities.
• Establish and enforce rules to promote positive behavior.
• Coordinate and lead indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
• Attend trainings or staff meetings on best practices in childcare and program management.
• Address challenging behavior with supervisors or parents when needed.
• Facilitate sign-up procedures to ensure accurate attendance tracking.
• Create clubs and organize activities like homework help, arts, crafts, and games.
