Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a School Age Site Supervisor for La Jolla to lead staff and youth in before/after-school programming. You will oversee program operations, planning, family relations, school relations, reporting, and regulatory compliance for ages 5-12 at a YMCA facility or partner site.

You will manage daily activities, ensure safety, and coordinate with schools to integrate high-quality academic activities, while guiding staff and maintaining documentation and program

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older and a high school graduate.
• Completion of 15 units in Child Development or related field with specified breakdowns; AA/BA in CD highly desirable.
• 12 units with 3 more units in Administration of Child Care Programs will be considered.
• Minimum 1-4 years in child/youth development or comparable setting; English literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and direction for all YMCA staff at the location.
• Manage monthly expenses to meet program needs and fiscal goals.
• Lead daily and monthly planning for age-appropriate activities for 5-12 year olds.
• Complete and submit program paperwork accurately and timely.
• Schedule and track staff hours and breaks; maintain program ratios.
• Supervise participants to ensure safety and engagement.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate activities aligned with YMCA goals.
• Communicate with participants, families, school and community partners.
• Coordinate with school personnel to align academic activities and student services.
• Provide positive behavior guidance and support students’ development.
• Maintain space, ensure cleanliness and safety; follow emergency procedures.
• Lead daily group activities and adapt to schedule changes.
