Job summary

YMCA is seeking a Site Supervisor to lead a school-age care program in an elementary setting. You will plan daily activities, supervise staff, and maintain strong communication with children, parents, teachers, and school personnel.

Effective organization, adherence to CACFP guidelines, and a focus on safety are essential. The role may require split shifts, opening and closing duties, and collaboration across programs.

Qualifications

• Completion of undergraduate program with a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or Elementary Education or an equivalent
• Compliance with Act 33/Criminal History and FBI fingerprinting
• Biennial physical examination and TB testing; health clearance required
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate developmentally suitable activities
• Demonstrated ability to supervise adults and work with diverse populations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of CACFP guidelines for meals and nutrition

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program using the YMCA School Age Care Curriculum
• Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned to themes and documented standards
• Provide activities suitable for varied ages and interests with outdoor options
• Lead a minimum of one structured activity daily
• Establish and post clear rules; apply fair, consistent discipline
• Document and report weekly attendance, meals, and incidents
• Communicate with parents and school staff; attend staff meetings and trainings
• Supervise staff and coordinate duties to support program quality
• Ensure safety, licensing compliance, and proper medication/first aid procedures
