Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a Part-time Site Coordinator for a grant-funded after-school program on an LAUSD campus. You will lead a team to provide safe, engaging, and enriching experiences for students, while building strong partnerships with school staff, families, and community partners.

The ideal candidate will have leadership experience, a background in youth development, and the ability to mentor staff and coordinate daily activities within a school setting.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in child development or related field preferred.
• Ability to pass district-required basic education assessment.
• Experience leading adults and working with school-age children in groups.
• Experience planning age-appropriate youth programs.
• Good communication, emotional maturity, and ability to build positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and team members.
• Current EMSA First Aid and Adult/Infant/Child CPR certifications, or ability to obtain before start.
• Health screenings and background clearances required before working with participants.

Responsibilities

• Lead grant-funded after-school program on LAUSD campus, ensuring safety and alignment with YMCA and grant requirements.
• Coach and support YMCA Team Members to deliver engaging club-based experiences.
• Build strong relationships with school staff, families, and community partners to support student success.
• Create purposeful experiences promoting academic achievement, leadership, belonging, and positive youth development.
