Job summary

The YMCA in Barrington, RI is seeking an After School Lead to assist the Site Coordinator in developing, implementing, and supervising engaging, academically aligned after-school activities for school-age children.

You will help ensure children's social-emotional development and safety, lead activities, support family events, attend staff meetings, and serve snacks, while upholding YMCA values of inclusion and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications required before working with children: Child Abuse Prevention Training, New Employee Orientation, RI DHS and MA EEC requirements.
• Within the first 60 days of hire: YMCA approved basic lifesaving skills (Pediatric CPR & First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen) and RI DHS Pre-service Health & Safety Training.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Site Coordinator in planning and leading a high-quality, creative program for school-age children.
• Supervise and actively engage children ensuring health and safety at all times.
• Provide leadership for activities and manage a variety of group activities.
• Promote inclusion and equity among all participants.
