Job summary

South Shore YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic Before and Afterschool Asst Group Leader to assist Group Leaders and Site Coordinators in planning, executing, and operating a high-quality Afterschool program aligned with YMCA values and QRIS standards. This role emphasizes strong member service for families, participants, and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Experience with school age children and EEC regulations preferred.
• Ability to develop positive working relationships with staff, families, volunteers, and school staff.
• Ability to interact with family needs/concerns positively and professionally, valuing diversity.
• Must meet EEC Educator Professional Development mandates including trainings addressing diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and execution of programs to meet Afterschool site needs and YMCA objectives.
• Support compliance with EEC licensing, QRIS, and HEPA standards; assist in meeting CACFP criteria.
• Provide accommodations to include children with disabilities per EEC and ADA.
• Supervise program participants in line with policies, EEC regulations, and QRIS standards.
• Build relationships with families and members, respond to inquiries, engage new families, and connect them to YMCA causes.
• Work with Site Coordinators and Leaders to ensure safe, clean, well-equipped facilities.
• Assist in engaging and coordinating volunteers for activities and events.
• Support community involvement and fundraising activities and build collaborations with local organizations.
