Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Behind & After School Lead to supervise and guide a licensed before- and after-school program for children. You will work with the Site Coordinator to provide a safe, engaging environment and to support families with daily operations.

You will lead activities, ensure safety, and participate in required training. This is an in-person, part-time role with morning, afternoon, and full-day shifts on non-school days and school breaks.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ experience working with children, preferred.
• Meet educational and experience qualifications established by DCYF for program leadership.
• Have completed twelve college credits within five years of employment.
• Provide documentation of all certification and training requirements (TB test, vaccinations, background check).
• Fluency in a second language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a licensed before and after-school program, working directly with children.
• Partner with the Site Coordinator to create a safe, engaging, inclusive program.
• Lead games, activities, and enrichment opportunities.
• Supervise children and activities within the program area.
• Ensure children's safety and well-being and communicate with families.
