Job summary

After-School All-Stars LA seeks a Part-Time Program Leader to support leadership and safety in after-school activities. You will help plan daily enrichment, coordinate with school staff and guardians, and ensure a nurturing environment for K-12 youth in a school setting.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, maintaining a 20:1 ratio, and communicating progress to the Program Coordinator. Evening and weekend availability may be required; travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12 in recreational, educational and/or community youth outreach setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in a language other than English highly desirable.
• Criminal record clearance by fingerprinting prior to working with youth.
• TB test clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under the supervision.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop positive relationships with youth, guardians and school staff to increase program visibility.
• Communicate attendance data, progress and concerns to supervisor.
• Supervise and facilitate age-appropriate learning experiences and activities.
• Travel to various sites for programs and events as needed.
