Job summary

After-School All-Stars is hiring a Part-Time Program Leader in Los Angeles, CA. The role focuses on providing leadership and support for academic, cultural and recreational enrichment in a school setting.

You will work under the Program Coordinator to ensure a safe, engaging environment, manage a 20:1 ratio, and coordinate with school staff and guardians. Evening/weekend availability may be required; travel to sites and events is possible.

Qualifications

• Experience working with K-12 students in recreational/educational settings.
• Ability to work cooperatively with school district staff, parents and community leaders.
• Familiarity with after-school program quality criteria.
• Strong communication and crisis-response abilities.
• Must be 18+ and have basic background checks.
• Completed TB test and fingerprint clearance.
• Clear safety and supervision protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under the supervision of the Program Coordinator.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop positive relationships with youth, guardians and school staff to raise program visibility.
• Provide attendance data, program progress and concerns per QA processes.
• Prepare supplies and create a creative, engaging learning environment.
• Facilitate age-appropriate learning activities and supervise students for safety.
• Communicate with staff and guardians about activities and events.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Assist with field trips and events as needed; travel off-site when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
